Take responsibility for your happiness

One of the most important lessons I have learned is that I cannot count on someone else to make me happy. God has given us the ability to take responsibility for our own happiness.

A lot of people aren't happy unless a certain person behaves a certain way, or unless a certain situation works out just the way they want it to. Every day we let our happiness depend on other people and situations, when in reality, God wants us to find our happiness in Him.

There was a time when I would feel sorry for myself if my mate went to play pool the day after one of our family events. I wanted him to go shopping or just snuggle with me. But God showed me that we have different ways of relaxing and unwinding. At least in some situations but for other's I was insecure and needed to know where he was at all times. Didn't need to trust the fact he needed space from me and nagging didn't help bring him home any quicker to me.

That's just one example, but there are so many ways that we put unrealistic expectations on people and rely on them to keep us happy. God wants us to look to Him first and rely on Him for our happiness.

Get your heart purged from being use to being abused from unhappiness. You will always find yourself unhappy if you DON'T heal from the abuse you're no longer in. I was abusing myself because of my horrible past relationships and messed up the relationship that came afterwards. Pull on and lean on God he will help you through it.

Prayer for me and you: God, my happiness should only rely on You, not other people and situations. Today, I get rid of my unrealistic expectations and take responsibility for my own happiness.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month

As we celebrate DOMESTIC VIOLENCE awareness month. Please remember the lives that were taken by this violent crime. This ruins lots of families especially the children and teens that are involved. Children loves their parents they don't see what adults see when it comes to abuse. We must cover the children and teens at all cost and teach them that love don't hurt.

We (survivors) must break the cycle that we have seen repeated and learned in our homes in order for our children to model positive behavior with other peers and adults. Children and teens seeks for approval and they want acceptance.

We (adults) must start with us and take a look at our past choices. You can and deserve healthy relationships. Sound the Alarm to domestic violence. Share your story of survival. I have made up my mind that I shall LIVE AGAIN and you can too!

We can make a difference

I'm on course of what has been planned for me in this journey. I can't lose with God on my side. I speak life, wisdom and courage to every person who knows someone who has faced domestic violence at one time or presently trapped. You must be able to walk a mile in the victims shoes to understand the bondage they face. We who are strong supposed to strengthen them when they are weak and being tortured physically, mentally, emotionally and financially. This coming year is a new level for SOUND THE ALARM OUTREACH. We will leave a mark and continue to make difference. We hope you will join us and let us in to  fight in 2014 because this a war now to save lives. Help us make a difference in setting the captives free. This is real domestic abuse and gun violence isn't a black problem it is a people problem. Stop making excuses to accept the natural act of peoples evil intent and begin to show the enemy we won't let you in to win. Every second counts and that friend and loved one needs us. So I speak to my house all the way to the white we have work to do. #2014 #STAO #fight #freedom #support #survivor #Ihavethevictory #domesticviolence #gunviolence
